What is Pilates?
It is to create a fusion of mind and body, so that without thinking about it the body will move with strength and balance. The method requires that one constantly pay attention to one's body while doing the movements.
Who is Pilates designed for?
Due to its non-impact nature, Pilates is suitable for all age groups, women as well as men, the well-trained athlete and the sedentary individual. Pilates has always had a strong physical rehabilitation component as well.
Introducing Pilates...
Since there are 5 basic principles to Pilates, we require at least five one-on-one sessions which are essential for proper technique on the equipment. As your skill and strength increase you will be introduced to more challenging exercises and be better prepared for duets and/or group classes.
Private Sessions, Duets, & Group Sessions Available
Private, Duets and Groups are offered Monday through Saturday.
All sessions are by appointment only with a 24-hour
cancellation policy.

All of our sessions are approximately 55 minutes in length.

Check out the introductory series. These one-on-one sessions allow the instructor to modify exercises to meet your needs and create a program to meet your personal goals.

Today I am busy with planning and customizing Pilates programs for all levels of performance. By Spring I will have certified in all levels with Stott’s Programs.
Having grown up as a competitive swimmer and diver, I understand the need for stability with performance.
After college I continued to teach swimming and do light coaching in the summers, while maintaining the pool operations. I moved to the south and continued to commit myself with certifications through AFAA, ACE & AFPA, Body Pump, Spinning and Kickboxing, while finishing my Yoga training.
I have been living in South Murrells Inlet for 28 years, and have 3 children who keep me very busy, along with my work improving bodies, flexibility and injury rehabilitation for many of AAC’s great members.
I have been an Instructor and trainer of various positions for American Athletic Club for over 10 years, while my passions and focus are here with American Pilates!
